Introduction

Many beginners don't know how they should start learning Perl. What are the best things to start with, where can they be found. Even those that already work with Perl, but not yet feel they've reached expert status, consider it difficult to determine how to proceed.

The amount of materials is overwhelming: documentation, books, websites, mailing lists, usenet groups. And there's the possibility to meet other programmers IRL (In Real Life).

What can be found where. How to use it. What's the best way to start. What is your goal. Who can help you. In case you're already on your way, how to proceed further? What's next?
