Introduction
The start is, relatively, the easiest part. First, you'll learn some commands, how to handle variables and calculations, cope with files. After a while the learning curve becomes steeper. For example, a book or an article mentions references, hashes of hashes, or modules. You'll encounter examples of Perl's motto "There's More Than One Way To Do It" (TMTOWTDI, or "Tim Towdi"). In the next 20 minutes you won't learn a iota of Perl, but just a bit about learning Perl. I'll tell you about what I think is a good way to learn Perl, and about what others think about it. |
